funny expression

Here is a funny expression I
think you should learn
& try to get into
regular conversation!!

"Oi, ya cheeky monkey!"

It's what one of my mates at
uni said to me today!!!

what did you do or say to get that response??? Cheeky means impudent, I think. As to "monkey" ??? Funny!

(oops, I'm annonymous in the comment above) "Eee you cheeky monkey" was what my mother said to me all the time when I was a kid. Cheeky means you are flippant, have too much lip or are a bit of a smart arse! Generally you are considered to be a bit cheeky if you have an answer for everything and always have the last word. My licence plate on my MX5 (Miata in American) was CHEEKY, which most Texans thought was something to do with bottoms - wrong!! Also found this site online when I typed in British slang.http://www.peevish.co.uk/slang/p.htm
