One thing I found during my year of living in the UK is that the British seem very ignorant of their own history. Maybe it's because they have a longer history than the USA, but they sure didn't seem interested in their own history.
I agree, but they sure do love to tell me how short my American history is compared to how long England's been around . . . not sure how that makes them better, but whatever!
